COOPERATIVE DEVELOPMENT
When Friedrich Gaotian returned to Germany, he met Teoldo Steinway and became a partner of the piano factory established in 1835. In 1865 Tealdo Steinway followed his father to the United States. Before leaving, he sold all the shares and rights in his hands to the Gaotian family. A few years later, William Gaotian inherited his father’s business and took over the family business. From 2000 to 2016, the general manager of the family business Gao Tian was held by the piano luthier and businessman Burkhard Stein. He was born in a family of piano makers. Both his father and grandfather were piano makers, and his skills were innate. In 1984, in order to obtain the qualification of piano maker, he entered Gaotian Company. During his tenure as the general manager of this traditional company, he successfully expanded Gaotian's sales channels in Asia and the United States, and promoted the Gaotian Piano Competition established in 1954 to the world.
Out of the company's economic interests, on April 1, 2015, a new shareholder joined the historical company founded in 1835, which is Parsons Music Group. The company was founded in 1986 and is a family company headquartered in Hong Kong. Perth Music Group has approximately 5,000 employees worldwide, has approximately 100 wholly-owned musical instrument shops in mainland China and Hong Kong alone, and has established cooperative relationships with more than 500 Chinese musical instrument companies. In addition, Perth Music Group also owns several wholly-owned musical instrument factories, producing pianos, piano parts, guitars and other musical instruments, and has sawmills and iron foundries in mainland China. After obtaining the support of this powerful shareholder, Gaotian's foundation has been stabilized and it has the ability to meet future challenges. Gaotian's goal is to continue to inherit and carry forward this long-standing brand with a history of more than 180 years.
